Christina is a native Texan and is proud to once again call Austin home. Born and raised in DFW, she first came to Austin in 2014 to be a Longhorn. It was through involvement in the local church and college ministries that her passion for working with people and developing community resources was first breathed to life. Returning ten years later to work in ministry alongside her husband has been a great and joyful surprise.
After graduating from UT Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies and minor in Sociology, Christina spent four years as a high school English teacher in Fort Worth, working directly with students to set goals for themselves and instill that their voices matter to the community. Following the pandemic, Christina saw a great need for increased support in intervention services for students and families. In 2022 she began her journey in nonprofit work to help provide preventative services to students in Fort Worth ISD.
Since leaving the classroom, Christina has worked her way up in nonprofit leadership and is excited to step into the role of Afterschool Program Director at Side by Side Kids. In addition, she will be working toward her Master of Science in Social Work at UT Austin.
Outside of work, Christina finds joy in reading, cooking, and spending time with her dog, Wrigley. She also serves with her husband in the youth ministry at Brentwood Oaks Church of Christ.
